The moment we are editing one of the final Turkish Istolbul editions the guys of the Bergen Moving Company are packing our belongings. You should see the computer island in the middle of boxes and wrapped furniture.
Last couple of days we spent with Ece and Ayla in Cappadocië. We drove along Ankara and met Ece's parents. Wonderful people. We enjoyed their hospitality very much.
Cappadocië...... is the touristic highlight of Cental-Anatolië. From Ankara it is a 3 hour drive to the south east. Wonderful rock formations as you can see on the images. We hired a tourguide for one day who explained all interesting facts about the history of this area. If you ever plan to go to Turkey this is a must. We also laughed a lot and we shall never forget this mini-vacation to cental Turkey.
We hope we can update the webside tomorrow just before we return to Holland. If not .. no sweat. While our computer will be shipped as well we are sorry to say that Istolbul will be out of the air -in the container- for over a month. August 25th we hope to unpack in Abbenes.
Thanks for following us during our Turkish adventure.
Love from Lia and Johan
We spent most of the the time (pre)packing. But in between we also take our time to enjoy this wonderfull city. Last sunday we were invited by Nuray and Muhittin for a nice day at their home close to the airport Sabiha Gökcen at the Asian side of Istanbul. We had brunch and bbq. A special day never to forget. Yesterday we visited the old city (again) to do some shopping for things that are a must in our new home in Holland. We intend to add special Turkish touch to that home.. In the meanwhile we noticed that the Büyük Elektrik Direk changed coulor. Four acrobats are painting that pole with small brushes...
Tomorrow we go to Ankara for a long weekend and monday we face the movers. We hope to be able to update the site before they wrap up the computer..
From a changing Istanbul we say hi.
Lia and Johan
Suzanne and Marijn had a wonderful week here in Istanbul. For them it was the place to be. Tuesday morning Johan joined them flying back to Hollanda. Johan spent some days visiting family and finalizing some unfinished business with Multi. He even had some time to visit old colleagues in Amsterdam. Thursday Johan returned to Istanbul and we had a nice dinner with Deger. The picture we took of him on his motor refects his future. His motto is like ours: we are on the move..
Love from Lia and Johan from a sunny Istanbul.
The Tol's are back in Istanbul... ... Monday we went to the airport to welcome Suzanne and her (Provast) collegue Marijn Verheij. The next day we also had lunch with our collegues in Akmerkez. Old times revived..
Although the weather forcast was not that great it turned out to be fantastic. Sunshine all over. We went to the Black Sea (Solar)Beach and visited most of Istanbul's topics. Suzanne and Marijn invited us also for dinner in the Reina. This was by the way the first time Lia and I went to the Reina. This was a great experience. The next day all girls went to the Sortie together with Ece. Keep your seatbelts fastened....
We realize how great Istanbul is.. and we only have a couple of weeks left.
From a dynamic Istanbul we send our love,
Lia and Johan
As said in the preveous 100th entry we spent another wonderfull week in the Gocek area. The weather continued to be very nice, exept for one rainy day. Lots of sunshine and wind. We sailed in flotille with our 12 Dutch friend on two Bavaria yachts. This week we cruised in the 'gulf of Gocek' and made trips to the cold water bay, Fethye and the butterfly canyon (Oludeniz). Despite the Dutch football desaster against Portugal we laughed and chuckled a lot. Sometimes pictures say more than thousand words, thats why we show a variation of several images. It was difficult to make a choice out of all the pictures we made. The sailing group will meet again early October in Abbenes to exchange pictures. This alone may take a week. hahaha.
Sunday our friends returned to Holland and we flew back to Istanbul, to be ready to welcome Suzanne and her collegue Marijn. Updating this webside is a match against the clock. . . . Of course we shall win this match and shall keep you posted.
Love from Istolbul.. Lia and Johan

Saterday June 17th we left for Calis-Fethye (Southern Turkey) to spend a full week with our (grand)children Raymond + Esther (+Marijn and Jade) and Merle + Mike. We rented a beautiful family palace close to the swimming pool and the sea. Marijn's birthday on June 23 we could celebrate. He enjoyed it very much as well as his little sister Jade, who jumped at age 2,5 without hesitation every time again into the pool. Needless to say that everyone had a wonderful relaxed time. The weather was as hot as hot could be. Something like early July tempartures in Holland ... (!). After this very nice week the children had to fly back home and Lia and Johan continued our vacation to Gocek to go sailing with 12 friends in flotille. Next article we shall show this event in detail.
Thanks for waiting two weeks for istolbul news. We keep you posted and say hi and love from both of us.
Lia and Johan
